Step 1: Create an automatic spending data export
To allow Perforce Unified Compliance to access spending data, ensure that a Cost and Usage Report (CUR) compliant with the FinOps Open Cost and Usage Specification (FOCUS) version 1.0 is present for the account. If this report does not already exist, you must generate it. You must also ensure that Perforce Unified Compliance can access the S3 bucket where the cost report is stored.
You must have permissions to create S3 buckets in the account. See Cost report permissions.
For detailed instructions on creating data exports and S3 buckets in the AWS console, see the AWS documentation.
Configure the export in the AWS console
In the AWS console Billing and Cost Management area, go to Data exports and take the following steps:
-
Create a Cost and Usage Report (CUR). Configure the export as follows:
-
Standard data export
-
Data table content settings: FOCUS 1.0 with AWS columns
-
Compression type: gzip - text/csv
-
-
Configure an S3 bucket to store the export, by following the creation workflow in the Data export storage settings.
-
Note the name of the S3 bucket.
When you create the IAM role or user for Perforce Unified Compliance in Step 2: Configure account access, you add this name to the permissions policy. You also use the bucket name when you connect the account.
-
After you create the bucket, check that it is listed in the Data export storage settings.
-
After the first scheduled export, verify that the exported files are appearing in the S3 bucket.
It may take up to 24 hours for the first scheduled export to appear.
