Enable download reporting for an organization

As an administrator, you can enable the download reporting feature for your organization. With this feature, all members of your organization can view the modules that were downloaded, published, or changed.

If you upload a Puppetfile and enable the syncing functionality, all members can monitor the updates in the Puppet estate in real time. If any member replaces an uploaded Puppetfile with another, the dashboard will be updated accordingly.

To enable the download reporting feature:

  1. Log in to Puppet Forge by clicking Log in at the upper right and following the prompts.
  2. At the upper right, click the down arrow next to your username to display a menu and click the organization for which you want to enable download reporting.
  3. Click Manage download reporting.
  4. In the Manage download reporting dialog box, switch on the Download report toggle.
  5. Optionally, to add information about previously downloaded modules to the report, take the following actions:
    1. Click Upload configurations.
    2. In the Add previous downloads dialog box, click Browse to locate the Puppetfile that contains the configuration of your current Puppet estate and click Open.
    3. Click Upload and Upload new puppetfile.
The download report reflects your current Puppet estate. All members of the organization have the same view.
    4. To ensure that your download report is updated automatically when your Puppet estate changes, see Enable automatic updates to reflect changes in your Puppet estate.
