Enable download reporting for an organization

As an administrator, you can enable the download reporting feature for your organization. With this feature, all members of your organization can view the modules that were downloaded, published, or changed.

If you upload a Puppetfile and enable the syncing functionality, all members can monitor the updates in the Puppet estate in real time. If any member replaces an uploaded Puppetfile with another, the dashboard will be updated accordingly.

Before you begin

You must be an administrator of the organization.

Procedure

1. Log in to Puppet Forge by selecting Log in at the upper right and following the prompts.
2. At the upper right, next to your username or profile, select the down arrow and the organization.
3. Select Manage download reporting.
4. In the Manage download reporting dialog, switch on the Download report toggle.
5. Optionally, to add information about previously downloaded modules to the report, take the following actions:
   1. Select Upload configurations.
   2. In the Add previous downloads dialog, select Browse.
   3. Locate the Puppetfile that contains the configuration of your current Puppet estate and select Open.
   4. Select Upload.
   5. Select Upload new puppetfile.

Results

Download reporting is enabled for the organization. If you uploaded a Puppetfile, the download report reflects your current Puppet estate, and all members of the organization have the same view.

Optionally, to view the organization's downloaded modules, select My modules in the navigation pane and go to the Downloaded modules tab.
