Manage Puppet instances

You can update a connected or pending Puppet instance connection in Perforce Unified Compliance. For example, you might update the user token for a connected instance when the token is rotated.

You can disconnect an instance from Perforce Unified Compliance. You might do this if a pending connection did not complete successfully, or if you no longer require information on whether your cloud VMs are managed by that instance.

Open the Integrations page

  1. In the navigation pane, select Integrations.

  2. Select the Puppet tab.

  3. Review the Puppet instance connections. For each connection, you can see the following information:

    • Name: The name of the instance

    • Puppet URL: The URL of the instance

    • Connected : A time stamp showing when the instance was connected

    • Connected by: The user that connected the instance

    • Status: The current connection status

Update an instance

  1. On the Integrations page, locate the instance to update.

  2. Click Actions ().

  3. Update the instance details as required. You can View details for a connected instance, or make the following changes:

    • Rename a connected or pending instance

    • Update user token for a connected instance

    • Disconnect to remove a connected instance, or an instance whose connection is pending or has failed

  4. Make the required updates, review the confirmation dialog, and confirm as prompted.

Disconnecting a Puppet instance removes the instance from the Perforce Unified Compliance platform. You can no longer see which virtual machines are managed by the disconnected instance, although any VMs you enrolled in that instance remain as managed nodes in Puppet after disconnection. To retain an accurate view of VM management status, keep Puppet instances connected.
