Migrate PE for a PEADM installation

Before you begin: Review the upgrade cautions for major changes to architecture and infrastructure components which might affect your upgrade.

For PEADM-configured installations, the peadm::migrate plan can be used to migrate your PE installation. The peadm::migrate plan will:

  1. Back up your existing installation.
  2.  Install your current PE version on a new primary server node.
You can specify a new primary server replica, PE-PostgreSQL server and PE-PostgreSQL replica server.
  3. Upgrade your new primary server to the latest PE version (optional).
    • If you want to upgrade your new primary server to the latest PE version, pass in the specific version of PE you would like to upgrade to.
    • If you don’t want to upgrade your new primary server to the latest PE version, leave it blank.

  4. Restore your installation on the new primary server.

There are a number of steps you will need to perform after migrating your PE installation. See Steps to run after a PEADM installation.
