New operating systems

You can now install Puppet agent on the following new operating systems:

• AmazonLinux 2 (aarch64)
• Fedora 40 (x86_64)
• Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 for Power (ppc64le)

Major version upgrade for curl

Curl is now upgraded in Puppet agent to Version 8.7.1. This version of curl is designed to enhance security and stability.

Upgraded to Ruby 3.2.4 to address CVE-2024-27282.

Resolved issues

Fixed issue with splay limits.

An issue was corrected to ensure that any splay setting updates in the Puppet configuration file (puppet.conf) are applied to daemonized Puppet runs.
