Leave an organization

In some cases, you might want to leave an organization. For example, if you resign from your company to join another, you must leave any Puppet Forge organizations that are associated with your original company.

To leave an organization:

1. Log in to Puppet Forge by clicking Log in at the upper right and following the prompts.
2. At the upper right, click the down arrow next to your username to display a menu and click the organization that you want to leave.
3. In the Actions column, click Leave organization .
• If you are a regular member of the organization, you can leave immediately.
• If you are an administrator, and the organization has at least one other administrator, you can leave immediately.
• If you are the only administrator, you cannot leave immediately because an organization without an administrator is no longer functional.
• If you are the only administrator, to ensure that the organization continues to function, you must take one of the following actions:
• Designate another member as administrator by going to the Actions column and clicking Member settings. Select a user, apply the Admin role, and then click Update and Grant admin rights.
• Invite a new member to join as an administrator by going to the Actions column and clicking Member settings. Follow the prompts to invite a new member and select Admin as the new member’s role.
