Test and deploy a target configuration

After you run a report in which none of the modules are tagged as INCOMPATIBLE or UNRESOLVED, you are ready to validate the suggested configuration in a test environment and potentially deploy the configuration in a production environment.

Complete the following steps:

1. Set up the test environment by taking one of the following actions:

   • Manually set up the test environment by installing and upgrading the software as suggested in the report.

   • To help simplify the configuration process, open the report and click Download Puppetfile. Use the file to set up the test environment.
     

2. Conduct testing and adjust the configuration as necessary.

3. Optionally, if testing is successful, deploy the configuration in a production environment. After deployment, carefully monitor operations and adjust the configuration if necessary.
